This book begins after winter break. Alicia spent her time in Spain, Massie and Claire went to Aspen, Kristen didn't go anywhere, and Dylan went on a cruise. Alicia's cousin Nina Callas comes back to America with her. At first, Massie is sure that the girl won't pose a threat to her seventh-grade social status since she has seen pictures of the girl with braces, zits, horrible clothes and terrible hair. But boy was she wrong! However, Nina underwent a transformation and Massie begins to doubt her theory and realizes that in fact, the girl may not only threaten her social status, but steal her crush "Derrington," too! Nina arrives to her welcome party dressed in a revealing dress, sexy shoes, and a thong that is shown purposely. However, that isn't the only thing bothering Massie- for 3 weeks, Claire and her family will move into the Block's house for renovation of the guest house. Though she now considers Claire a friend, she cannot stand watching all of her clothes fall prey to Claire's clumsiness, ruining her wardrobe. But Massie has to be nice to Claire...because we have learned that Claire's parents have found a house in Chicago! As it gets nearer to Valentines' day, and the "Love-Struck Dance" that OCD is planning, Massie becomes worried when she notices that all of the Briarwood boys are taking interest in Nina. So she, Claire, and Alicia band together to make a plan to somehow get rid of Nina, once and for all.
